The MOMS Club offers a wide variety of events and activities. As a member, you are able to participate in as many or as few outings as you desire. Additionally, we welcome new ideas for our activities and encourage all members to host at least one event per year.

Below are some MOMS Club of WSJC activity groups:

Babysitting Co-Op:

This group is an amazing resource for moms in the club. Babysitting is traded among mothers so that moms can get away for doctor's appointments, shopping, or even a date night with the husband. No money is exchanged, just points! It's especially great for us moms that don't have family nearby.

Book Club:

This group of women meets every other month to discuss a new book they have all read while our children play.  Meeting every other month allows us plenty of time to buy or borrow the book as well as read it.  Books are chosen at the meeting.  We try to read a variety of genres.  It is a great way to get to know other women and find new books to read!

Coffee Connection:

Join our moms for a yummy cup of your favorite coffee or perhaps a danish.  This event is perfect for moms with kids in school with some time to themselves, or bring those kiddies along too!  We try different coffee houses every month and just enjoy each other's company.

Family Management 101:

This casual, monthly get together focuses on discussing topics related to managing a household.  The  moms have a chance to share ideas while the children have a fun  play date.  Topics can range from meal planning and feeding the picky eater to saving big with coupons and managing household chores.  It's great to get good ideas from fellow moms who deal with the same issues as us on the home front!

Field Trips and Outings:

Members regularly schedule outings that both moms and children enjoy such as a trip to the one of the 3 local zoos, the beach, an art museum, stroller walks at parks, or coffee or lunch outings. There may also be a special tour of an ice cream shop or a pizza parlor field trip where the children can make their own creations after getting a behind-the-scenes look at how these places run.

Member Meeting and Social:

We get together to discuss upcoming events/activities, socialize and hear experts discuss topics of interest to mothers such as home organization, exercise after baby, nutrition and the picky eater and meal planning.

Moms' Night Out:

Every mom needs a break, so once a month a mom volunteers to "host" our Moms' Night Out.  Whether it's dinner, bowling, a movie, dancing, or just a simple scrapbook or game night we all look forward to this event.  It can be as simple or creative as we want.  During a past Moms' Night Out, moms relived their wedding by bringing their wedding photos/videos and wearing their veils and tiaras while sharing funny memories about their big day!

Movie Club:

Movie Club is where we meet to casually discuss movies from a variety of genres - comedy, drama, foreign, etc. - while our children play. We also decide upon the next month's movie -- anyone can make suggestions. Movies will be available to rent online or from a local video store, borrow, or check out from the library.

New Member Tea:

Our New Member Teas are held each month at a member's home. The tea is to welcome our new moms and children and give them a chance to meet other members in the chapter. At this time, our Welcome Packet is given to our new members. The Welcome Packet has various club information as well as a sign up sheet for volunteer opportunities. We have a great time getting to know each other while the kids play together!

Pantry Preschool:

Every month the kids and moms try new recipes and enjoy cooking and creating together. The kitchen is a wonderful place to involve children in learning whether it is stirring ingredients, measuring, cleaning up, or simply decorating all types of food. Knowing how food is prepared and making it fun encourages them to try new foods and they take great pride in their recipes!

Park Days and Play Dates:

Members love to get out to the area parks by scheduling park days. Members also host play dates at their homes. Past themed play dates have included bike and trike day, garden dig, dinosaurs and barnyard.

Parties and Family Events:

Our club regularly schedules parties around holidays and fun family events, such as a weekend BBQ. This is especially nice for the dads to be able to participate and get to know others, as well.

Other Areas of Support:

Helping Hands:

Our members volunteer services, whether it be delivering a meal, offering babysitting or running errands, to other members with new babies or who are needing assistance during a difficult time.

Service Projects:

One of the most rewarding aspects of the MOMS Club is our commitment to helping needy children in our community through our service projects. Our chapter has supported local family shelters with donated clothing and goods, given monetary donations to charities and held a fundraising event that benefited local foster children.
